A stylish, on-trend bathroom renovation in a heritage-style bungalow in Penshurst
We recently completed a complete bathroom renovation and upgrade, taking advantage of the existing heritage features of the home, yet introducing contemporary fixtures and fittings that integrate seamlessly with the rest of the home.
The classic white, tiled walls were offset with marble penny round tiles in Norwegian Rose. The feature wall worked in the classic features of the home including leadlight windows and existing shelving.
The customer selected Brushed Bronze tapware, shower and accessories, a classic gold colour with a contemporary shape from Modern Nation’s “Star Mini” range.
The bathroom was not overly large so an ADP “Box” vanity was installed to make the best use of the available space. Available in a shorter height, but with full depth, maximised storage and benchspace but took up minimal floor area – perfect for a small bathroom.
The solid surface vanity top in ‘cherry pie’ is hard-wearing. The timber open shelf complimented the feature wall while adding warmth and texture.
A Fienza oval, back to the wall, bath was set against the penny round feature wall and completed the space perfectly making this room a space perfect for function and relaxation.
A white, heated towel rail was selected to blend into the walls rather than stand out, giving functionality without taking away from the other decorative features of the bathroom.
The final element was a frameless shower screen. Not only was a frameless screen chosen to make the space feel larger but it draws the eye to the stylish brushed bronze fittings and built-in footrest tiled in the same penny rounds tiles as the feature wall.
The result was a modern bathroom, with attractive design features that made use of the small space without feeling cluttered and underwhelming.
