This kitchen renovation was anything but “average” and is now the centrepiece of this 5 bedroom home in the St George local area.
With so many elements creating interest and texture, the finished kitchen is not only beautiful but wonderfully functional – perfect for a large family. There are places to sit and chat and eat your breakfast, do your homework, loads of bench space to create a special meal for friends or a weeknight meal for the family.
The customer wanted to create a kitchen that would be a real feature of the home so worked with us to incorporate a number of the current kitchen trends with quality inclusions and easy layout but was classy enough not too date quickly.
A soft sage colour (seed) was chosen for the cabinetry and colour matched with a Dulux paint for the “Steccawood” half round panelling. Whilst not inexpensive, this panelling feature adds great texture under this curved island bench. The design ensuring up to 5 people could sit around the curved end. The white stone benchtop with a subtly grey vein is more classic in its appeal whilst further interest and texture is added with a statement splashback of geometric mosaic tiles with contrasting grey grout.
The lowered bench area can be used as seating when everyone gathers in the kitchen or to access the outdoor entertainment area through bifold doors when entertaining on a summers day (already in place).
The greenery, artwork and beautiful cookbooks the owner has added to the space since we finished our installation has made it even more beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to stay for coffee?
