How do I kickstart the renovation process?

Can I just purchase products from the Abode Renovations Showroom without engaging you to do the renovations?

We specialise in delivering a complete service from initial consultation and quote, through picking fixtures and accessories and then delivering a fully finished renovation.

However, if you have your own builder we are happy to supply items for your renovation.  We are happy to work with you as we do with all our customers in advising on the best products for your particular space and vision then place orders with our various suppliers saving you time visiting retailers here, there and everywhere.  We do try to have “all your needs in one place”.  We can also organise delivery in one load once everything has arrived, saving you on the multiple delivery fees that others may charge.

Can I purchase my own products from another provider?

The simple answer is we aim to offer an end to end service and take care of everything for our customers. Its our point difference, the reasons why our customers choose to use us for their renovation.  We do try to have “all your needs in one place”.  If we are unable to supply a specialty item (such as a tiles) that we can’t source from our suppliers you can buy it elsewhere to ensure you get the end result you were envisaging.

How long will the renovation take?
It will depend on the size and the complexity of the renovation. As a guide, an average bathroom takes 3-4 weeks.
Will we be able to live in our home whilst we are renovating our bathroom?
Yes. But you do need to be prepared, as the bathroom will be unusable for the duration of work. You may require a portable toilet and shower and Abode Renovations can assist in hiring portable amenities at additional cost. We plastic cover all walkways for the duration of the renovation to keep the rest of your house as clean as possible. 
How much can I expect the renovation to to cost?

Kitchens, bathrooms and laundries vary in size and style and therefore cost.  We are happy to discuss approximate costs with you when you call or visit our showroom.  An accurate figure, relevant to your home and extent of the work required can be provided after a site visit.

Can I choose the tiles, cabinets, bath etc?

We want you to have the kitchen, bathroom or laundry that you envisage.   We don’t do “package deals” instead guide you through the selection process and advise you on the advantages and disadvantages or the products you are considering.  We also love to help put the whole look together based on your preferences and inspirations (we are happy to see photos of things you like). When you are ready to select products we ask you to book an appointment at the Abode Renovation showroom so that we can offer you our undivided attention.

Do I need to organise my own electricians and plumbers?

Abode Renovations provide all the required tradesmen to complete your renovations seamlessly, in the shortest possible time and to our consistently high standards.  Taking care of everything for our customers is our point of difference, the reason why customers choose to use us for their renovation.   We happily guarantee our work and take full responsibility for any after sales service that may be required. 

Do I have to be home during the renovation?
It’s up to you, but we are able to securely supervise the renovations without you having to stay home. You can rest assured knowing your home will be in safe hands, with strict key security measures in place, full supervision of the renovation and a team that will always respect your home and your privacy. 
What areas do you service?
Our team is based in the St George area, but we service the Southern Sydney region.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we are fully insured, including insurance for public liability. 
Do I need home owners warranty insurance?
Any building works over the value of $20,000 require Home Warranty Insurance – which will be arranged by Abode Renovations. 
Do you need council approval or a building permit?
Provided the renovation is not a major structural change, you usually do not need council approval. When discussing your proposed renovations, Abode Renovations can advise you what jobs may need to go through the council approval process. Typically, if you need to obtain council approval, your architect will be able to assist with the application.
